I Got Fired From My First Job And Eventually Regained My Will To Live (And You Can, Too!)

Everyone should read this.

Thought Catalog

After I got fired from my very first professional job, I was a wreck. Like, if I didn’t jump off a bridge in the immediate aftermath of said firing, it was just because I was too much of a mess to locate an actual bridge, you know? I was not well.

Never mind that the job I was fired from was basically a prison made of sadness and mean office gossip and Lean Cuisine. I didn’t consider myself lucky to be gone. I didn’t use my firing as a chance to re-evaluate my goals, or have some plucky, Anne Hathaway-in-a-rom-com-style realization that I had inherent worth as a human being, and I should expect more from a job than crawling around behind my boss’s desk, searching for her dropped Blackberry charger, getting dust all over my skirt.

No, instead, for the next six (profoundly unemployed) months: I drank. A lot

Dream More

The Door

The door opens

You walk through
Frown on your face
You’re in a mood

The door opens

Here you are now
Judgemental first
Never asking
In tears I burst

The door opens

Talk over me
I don’t exist
Speaking louder
I still resist

The door opens

Temptation comes
To leave and go
Away I hide
Where no one knows

Closing the door

Hold myself firm
Lay on my bed
Angry bad thoughts
Go through my head

The door opens

Sickness and health
death do us part
Vows we both made
Now break my heart

Words are easy
Actions speak true
The door is closed
I’m all alone

so are you.

Weekly Writing Challenge: Playing with Space

Let's Get Happy.

Happy for you is not the same as it is for me
To me, happiness is joy and feeling completely
For you it is valued in terms of titles and of money
Those are just things and won’t make your life easy.

Get rid of the clutter and the thoughts in your head
Let go of your ego before you wind up dead
Enjoy all your moments, even ones you don't like
Minutes may be all you have before the end of life
Stop pushing down emotions, feel the good and the bad
Don’t dwell on your past; regrets are crutches for feeling so sad

Pretension is for the weak, a game you don’t need
Stretching your truth will lead to more greed.
Stop lying to yourself and be honest with me
When you think of your future what do you see?

Begin to be mindful of the things that you dohappiness
Begin to be mindful of the words that you use
Open your heart and let love in
Open your eyes before the world dims.
Happy for me is simply just to be
Happy for me is about simplicity

Give back to all others before your time is up
Karma goes around and doesn't give up
Take my hand please and let go of your fears
Get rid of the pain you have clung to for years

You have the power to make a small change
I know it sounds basic and maybe even strange
Try it for yourself and then you will see

What it really means for you to become Happy.

This is my everymorning!

Stay positive

Indeed. Give it a read.

Bent But Not Broken

Life can be so overwhelming where you start to think as if you can’t go on and not sure where to turn. It’s like being on a merry go round and no way of making it stop so you can jump off. Our mind is so powerful that we need to be careful to what enter out thoughts. Press on as right now it seems impossible but it is possible you will make out of this sand storm that blocks your vision, it will clear up. Keep fighting through, as your almost there!❤🙏😀
